Engel and Völkers Atlanta Taps Atlanta Realtors Association Leader To Oversee Growth

An Atlanta luxury boutique brokerage has recruited a local leader in residential real estate to help spearhead its future expansion. Engel & Völkers Atlanta has appointed Atlanta Realtors Association executive Chris Burell to serve as the company’s first chief growth officer. In his new role, Burell will oversee team management, brand building and leadership across the agency’s five metro area offices. “Burell’s commitment to excellence has followed him throughout his career across several prestigious firms, having delivered exemplary mentorship and guidance to several Atlanta brokerages,” said Engel & Völkers Atlanta’s founder and CEO, Christa Huffstickler, in a statement. “He exemplifies the company culture centered around collaboration that we cultivate at Engel & Völkers and will be an extraordinary addition to our company and a key factor in our future growth.”

Burell’s career in residential real estate spans upwards of two decades. He’s previously held managing broker and director positions at some of Atlanta’s top luxury real estate firms. He was also voted to serve as president-elect of the Atlanta Realtors Association this year, positioning him to assume the presidency in 2025. “In joining Engel & Völkers Atlanta, I am bringing my expertise to a firm that understands the value and importance of cultivating genuine relationships internally and with clients,” Burell said in a statement. “I look forward to the future growth [of the] company and its numerous offices.”

Engel & Völkers Atlanta has prioritized expanding its footprint across the metro area this year. The firm acquired Smyrna-based brokerage Davis & Hawbaker Real Estate Group in February, followed by Alpharetta-based agency AtHome and Co. Real Estate at the beginning of May.

Launched by Huffstickler in 2017, the brokerage now caters to more than two dozen Atlanta neighborhoods and suburbs.
