NBA star Dwight Howard’s metro Atlanta mansion hits the market for $11.3 million

A sprawling European-style mansion owned by Atlanta-born NBA star Dwight Howard is for sale.

The Rose Hill Estate in Suwanee hit the market for $11.25 million on Thursday. Kelly Anderson of Engel & Völkers Atlanta is the listing agent.

The estate last changed hands in 2016 when a limited liability company linked to professional basketball player Dwight Howard purchased it from Moore Road LLC for $8.8 million, according to Gwinnett County deeds.

Howard was the first owner to live inside the home, Anderson told Atlanta Business Chronicle on Thursday. The property sat vacant for years after construction wrapped in 2010.

The home cost $40 million to build, the Chronicle previously reported. About 35 miles northeast of Atlanta, 5200 Moore Road first hit the market in 2014 but underwent a series of price reductions before selling to Howard two years later, per Zillow data.

Spanning more than 32,000 square feet on a roughly 14-acre tract, the gated estate has 10 bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms and 9 half baths.

Six full kitchens, a game room, a movie theater and a private gym are found throughout the home, among other amenities, per the Engel & Völkers Atlanta listing.

The main kitchen comes with an adjacent large scullery, as well as a walk-in pantry with remote-controlled shelving.

An oversized primary bedroom suite sits on the main floor and has its own private, covered balcony and dual custom closets.

Large pillars and crafted arches and wainscoting are found in and around the home. The property also has six interior and exterior fireplaces.

A set of spiral stone staircases lead to the backyard, home to professionally manicured gardens; a private lake; a half-court basketball court; and a heated, saltwater swimming pool.

The property also features a pool house and a garage compound capable of fitting more than 10 cars.
