Your Guide to Summer in the City
While the Georgia heat has a summer mindset year-round, there’s something about the months of June-August that just hit different in Atlanta. With a range of activities to do, it can be challenging to know where to begin. That is why we’ve broken out some of the top in-season spots to enjoy your summer in and around Atlanta.

Get Outdoors
Go enjoy a summer hike at Stone Mountain for a spectacular view of the lush greenery surrounding the city. For a slightly longer drive, venture out to Amicalola Falls State Park or Cloudland Canyon State Park for another breathtaking experience. Both have mild hikes and beautiful scenery to explore and admire. If you are looking to stay in the city and still enjoy a scenic walk, head over to the Atlanta Beltline. The Beltline is a 22-mile railroad corridor connecting to public parks, transit, and multi-use trails. Take the family out on a long walk and end the day by stopping at Ponce City Market to cool down with an Atlanta classic – King of Pops.

Shoot the Hooch
Another immersive outdoor activity to partake in this summer is what Atlantans deem “shooting the Hooch.” The Atlanta heat can be hard to tolerate, but the Chattahoochee River provides a relaxing and experiential reprieve from the sun. Grab a tube and a cooler full of water to stay hydrated through the trip, and you’ll be on your merry way.

Root for the Braves
Enjoy an afternoon at Truist Park cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Truist Park is the quintessential marriage of the classic ballpark feel and modern amenities which creates a fan experience unlike any other. Shop, dine, and watch the post-game firework show at The Battery Atlanta after the game with family and friends to make the memories last.

Unwind at a Rooftop Bar
There is no shortage of fun and immersive bars and breweries where you can sip on a craft cocktail and enjoy the summer breeze. You can find us rooftop hopping all summer long at a few of Atlanta’s best rooftop such as Draw Bar, Sky Lounge at the Glenn, St. Julep at the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, O-Ku Atlanta, and The Roof at Ponce City Market.

Discover Atlanta’s Art Scene
Head over to The High Museum of Art in Midtown. Connect with their range of exhibitions or sign up for their engaging community-focused programs. Mark your calendar on the third Friday of each month for Friday Jazz at the museum where you can enjoy music, drinks and art. After you’ve explored The High, you can make your way over to the Atlanta Botanical Garden for more exciting art such as Origami In The Garden. This exhibition features 18 installations of quality metal sculptures throughout the garden of flourishing flowers.
