The Guide to Celebrating Fall in the City
Fall is in full swing in Atlanta, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to enjoy the cool weather and the season’s festivities popping up throughout the city. Whether you’re looking to stay close to home or venture out, there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.
Enjoying the city itself is a great place to start when looking for fall activities. Neighborhoods across town host a variety of fall festivals with games, food, art, and activities that offer something fun for everyone to enjoy. Areas like Piedmont Park, Candler Park, Inman Park, and other green spaces across Atlanta turn a beautiful gold and red as the leaves change and give visitors a chance to unwind from the city with fresh air and beautiful scenery, without having to venture too far from home.

Atlanta isn’t the only city getting into the fall spirit. For a fun weekend away, or even just a day trip, venture into North Georgia for a host of fall fun. Known for their fall festivities, head to Helen, GA to enjoy the city’s 50thannual Oktoberfest. The longest running in the United States, this annual celebration is one you will want to experience for yourself. On your way back home, stop in one of North Georgia’s many orchards to enjoy apple picking with mountain views, spiced donuts, warm apple cider, or stock up for Halloween at one of the local pumpkin patches.

No one does Halloween quite like Atlanta, and with so many activities going on during this spooky season, it might be hard to decided just what to do. Kick off the holiday with a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to see scarecrows, carve pumpkins, or for those 21 and over, experience the garden by night during the Fest-of-Ale event.

Additionally, The Roof at Ponce City Market hosts trick-or-treating during the day and a fun celebration in the evening. If you’re looking for something more unique, head over to Midtown to get spooky with the sea-life for Sips Under the Sea at the Georgia Aquarium.
