Engel and Völkers in the World of Polo
A longtime lover of Polo, Christian Völkers, the CEO and founder of Engel & Völkers, found his passion for polo over 20 years ago, thanks to one of Germany’s most renowned polo players. In polo, success requires seamless teamwork and dynamic thinking, making the sport comparable to the real estate business. The similarity of values between the two, has expanded the business in a unique direction and further displayed the brands diverse range of qualifications.

Christian’s fascination with the game inspired the rise of Engel & Völkers + Land Rover Polo School in 2014, a polo school for both newcomers and veteran payers to expand their skills in the demanding sport. Since opening the school, Engel & Völkers has participated in a variety of polo tournaments through sponsorships and even through participation with their own team.

Most recently, Engel & Völkers has announced its partnership as the title partner this year with the Polo Club of the Domaine de Chantilly, to host Polo’s most renowned tournament, The French Open. Taking place September 3rd to September 19th in Apremont, this century old tournament hosts the best French and European players to compete in an amazing display of athleticism.

David Scheffler, President of Engel & Völkers France says, “After three years of co-sponsoring the Chantilly Polo Club, its tournaments and polo school, Engel & Völkers – European leader of luxury real estate – is pleased to become, for the first time, the title partner of the Open de France… The Engel & Völker’s core values – passion, competence, and exclusivity – a perfect fit for the polo sport.”
