2019 Home Design Trends, Here to Stay for 2020
Each new year brings a flurry of new home trends, and 2019 was no exception. While often, home trends come and go like the passing of a season, 2019 brought some trends that are surely here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future, but most certainly carrying over into 2020. Natural Elements
While it was certainly trendy in years past to have a statement plant, like a Fiddle Leaf Fig, or small succulents scattered throughout your home, 2019 brought the jungle inside, with a mass injection of plants of all varieties into the home trending scene. Bringing nature in by adding plants throughout the home not only adds a level of earthy, boho chic, it gives an overall boost to health, wellness, and well-being. Plants act as a natural source of oxygen, an air purifier, and even a detoxifier and air purifier. Stick them in some chic decorative pots or even a hanging macrame basket and you have some seriously beautiful decor!
Velvet Furnishings
Believe it or not, velvet used to be seen as old fashion and stuffy, and it’s now viewed as a luxurious and comforting decorating medium. This multi-dimensional fabric has already started gaining a lot of attention in 2019, and that is sure to continue into 2020. The most impactful pieces have certainly been the stunning, rich colored sofas in all manor of colors, but we have also seen the trend in headboards, ottomans, and accent decor pieces.
Copper & Matte Gold Accents
While 2018 brought in rose gold trend, 2019 has been all about copper, matte gold, and bronze accents throughout the home. The days of stainless steel as a standard seem to be exiting the scene, and fast. 70’s Chic
